Course Overview
It gives me immense pleasure to present you this course Basics of Structural Analysis/Statics: For Complete Beginners. My interest in engineering developed only after I came across this subject when I was doing my engineering. I have developed few other courses that are helpful for civil engineering graduates. As an instructor, I had always wanted to teach this course and share my knowledge on it with students out there.
Basics of Structural Analysis: For Complete Beginners gives you insight into the fundamentals of structural analysis and how it works. This course is mainly focused on the analysis of truss, beams, and frames.
-
Basic Introduction and Explanation of basic terms
As the title says, this course is for the absolute beginners and it doesn't require you to have any kind of knowledge on mechanics of materials or structural analysis. So, I have taken some time to explain certain topics that will be helpful in understanding the core chapters in a good way and conceptually.
-
Analysis of Truss
These chapters focus on analysis of truss using the method of joints and method of sections. There are a lot of solved problems that will help you to understand this topic in a very good manner.
-
Analysis of Beam
After completing the analysis of the truss, we will move forward to learn the analysis of the beam. We will learn how to find the external as well as the internal reaction forces and also draw shear force diagrams and bending moment diagrams which is an important part of the analysis of beam.
-
Analysis of Frame
By the time you will complete the analysis of the beam, you will have good knowledge of drawing shear force and bending moment diagrams. It will help you to understand this topic as well. Varieties of problems have been provided that will help you to comprehend this topic.
I have tried my best to relate the theories to the practical world. I have explained where the concepts explained in the videos will be helpful to you in your professional life. I hope you like this course.
